The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are celebrating the Queen with a social media post thanking her for “inspiring a nation”.
“Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Head of State, The Queen’s extraordinary reign has been longer than any other monarch in British history – inspiring a nation and dedicating her life to the service of the Commonwealth and its people”, they added.
The post shared on Instagram show images of the 95-year-old head of state across her reign, including a photo of Prince William and Kate with the Queen at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2019 and Prince Charles kissing the Queen’s hand at a polo match in 1988.

The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Charles also paid respects to her, posting the same photos on their official Instagram page.
Yesterday, the Queen held her first in-person engagement since getting coronavirus, meeting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who was visiting for talks with Prime Minister Boris Johnson about Russia’s invasion in Ukraine.
She was pictured standing with Mr Trudeau smiling at him whilst they shook hands at Windsor Castle.

The Queen caught coronavirus on 20 February, just after Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall both tested positive.

Other scheduled events later this month include the Duke of Edinburgh’s memorial service on 29 March, at Westminster Abbey.
Last month on 6 February, the Queen reached her Platinum Jubilee after 70 years on the throne, becoming the first British monarch to reach the milestone.
A series of events to celebrate the anniversary will take place throughout this year, including a celebratory concert with music performances from stars and orchestras.
