A three-year-old girl and five-year-old boy have died in hospital following a house fire in Preston, Lancashire Police have said.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Coronation Crescent at about 8pm on Friday following reports of a property on fire with several people trapped inside.
Police said three people were rescued from the building – a woman in her 20s and her two children who were both critically injured.
The children have since died after medical intervention was withdrawn on Tuesday.
The woman’s injuries are not life-threatening, the force said.
A file will be passed on to the coroner in due course.
The force said on Sunday that a 24-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life but has since been released with no further action.
