Former world darts champion Ted Hankey has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault.
The 54-year-old appeared at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with intentionally touching a woman over the age of 16 in Crewe, Cheshire, last September.
Jonathan Wilkinson, prosecuting, said the victim was under 18.
District Judge Nicholas Sanders granted Hankey conditional bail and told him to report to a local police station.
Hankey, nicknamed The Count, won the BDO World Championship in 2000 and 2009.
He will be sentenced on 12 May at Chester Crown Court.
Hankey, from Stoke-on-Trent, arrived for Thursday’s hearing – which lasted about 10 minutes – with a black snood covering the lower half of his face.
