Firefighters have been battling a major blaze at a 138-year-old Dumfries landmark.
Flames engulfed the historic convent on Corbelly Hill in the early hours of Tuesday.
The building, which dates from 1884, was the setting for Peter Mullan’s 2002 film, The Magdalene Sisters.
Emergency services were called to the derelict property at around 2.30am.
Nine fire engines were sent to the scene, and roads around the site were sealed off.
Sergeant Adam Potts, the police incident officer at the scene, told BBC Radio Scotland “extensive damage” had been caused to the building.
“There are no reported casualties,” a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson, told The Herald.
