A man sought by police over a double stabbing in east London has been found dead.
Miguel Angel Alvarez Florentino, 38, was wanted in connection with the murder of 53-year-old Yolanda Saldana Feliz, and the non-fatal stabbing of a 30-year-old woman who received hospital treatment for “serious injuries”.
Both victims – who knew Florentino – were found in a flat in Newham in the early hours of 23 October.
A murder investigation was launched by the Metropolitan Police which took the unusual step of publicly naming Florentino as the suspect as a manhunt got under way to find him.
On Friday night, detectives found his body in a river near Blaker Road, in Stratford, east London.
His death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious, and his family has been told.
