A Bolivian hunter survived 31 days in the Amazon jungle by eating insects and drinking his own urine.
Jhonatan Acosta, 30, was dehydrated, very weak and had wounds on his feet when he was found on Saturday – a month after he had gone missing.
He told Panamericana radio he had lost contact with some friends as they tried to reach a lagoon after hearing gold and diamonds were located there.
Wild hogs attacked him one night and bit his rubber boot, he told Panamericana.
He said he could not see them but took a shot at them, discovering the next morning he had killed one, but because he did not have a knife or any means of making a fire he said he could not eat the pig.
He said he also came close to some jaguars, but they ignored him.
Mr Acosta said he drank his urine after being unable to collect any rainwater.

During the search, his family hired locals to look for him and planes to locate him in the thick forest. Mr Acosta said he saw the planes dropping supplies, but he was never able to retrieve them.
He used up his gun cartridges trying to get the attention of those looking for him.
Neighbours, friends and family members found the hunter on Saturday.
He received a hero’s welcome when he was brought back to his small jungle town of Baures and is now in hospital recovering.
