DJ Pat Sharp has left his radio show after reportedly making an inappropriate remark to a woman at an industry event.
The 61-year-old broadcaster, who is known for presenting children’s TV show Fun House in the 1990s, as well as his radio work, has left his Greatest Hits radio show following the incident.
According to US entertainment outlet Deadline, Sharp made a comment about a woman’s breasts at the Conference News Agency Awards in London earlier in March. The presenter reportedly said he was “truly sorry” following the incident.
He had been due to leave his radio show at the end of the month anyway, but has now come off air earlier than planned.
A spokesperson for Greatest Hits’ parent company Bauer said in a statement sent to Sky News: “Due to the introduction of new weekend programming, a decision had already been made not to renew Pat’s contract which comes to an end later this month.
“However with this issue now having been brought to our attention, we have agreed with Pat that he will not return to the station with immediate effect.”
