Police have arrested a 12-year-old boy on suspicion of murder after a woman died following a report of a collision with a car.
The woman, who was in her 60s and has not been identified, was found in the Greenhill area of Sheffield around 7.10pm on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called, but the woman died at the scene.
The boy was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
Detective Chief Inspector Andrea Bowell of South Yorkshire Police said: “This will be a deeply distressing time for the families of those involved in this incident, and I would ask their privacy is respected as they seek to understand what has happened.”
