A police officer has been charged with raping a woman while on duty.
Police Sergeant David Stansbury is charged with three counts of rape of a woman aged 16 years or over, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
The charges relate to alleged incidents in Plymouth in 2009, and have been under investigation since being reported to Devon and Cornwall Police in September 2020.
Stansbury is currently a serving officer with Hertfordshire Police and has been suspended from duty.
The 42-year-old, from Ilminster, Somerset, served with Devon and Cornwall Police from 2009 to 2011.
