A 15-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in Cardiff.
South Wales Police were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian shortly after 9.30pm on Monday.
The girl died at the scene on Heol Trelai in the Caerau area of the Welsh capital.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
He has been taken to Cardiff Bay police station.
A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed they attended the incident on Monday evening.
“We deployed a rapid response vehicle, an emergency ambulance and were supported by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service along with pre-hospital immediate care specialists from MEDSERVE Wales,” they said.

South Wales Police say their thoughts are with the family of the girl.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
