The Prince and Princess of Wales have released a new photo of their daughter Princess Charlotte to mark her eighth birthday.
The image, taken by photographer Millie Pilkington, shows the couple’s middle child wearing a blue and white jumper, a light-coloured button-up top and blue jeans.
Charlotte is seen smiling in a meadow while she cuddles the family’s black cocker spaniel, Orla.
Prince William, 40, and Kate, 41, shared the picture on social media on Tuesday evening as they thanked people “for all the birthday wishes”.
It comes after the royal couple last night released a different image of Charlotte ahead of her big day.
The young princess was photographed grinning in a white dress with flowers on it by her mother in Windsor this weekend.
Charlotte is William and Kate’s second child. She is the younger sister of nine-year-old Prince George and the older sister of Prince Louis, five.
The trio and their parents live in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor’s Home Park.
The family will be gearing up for the King’s coronation on Saturday, with Charlotte and her siblings reportedly set to take part in the procession from Westminster Abbey which will follow the ceremony.

The three royal children will also be expected on the Buckingham Palace balcony afterwards – with royal fans hoping for a repeat of Louis’ antics during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the late Queen last June.
Last month, a smiling Louis was photographed by Millie Pilkington being pushed in a wheelbarrow by Kate ahead of his fifth birthday.
The children were also featured recently in an unseen photo of the late Queen, released on what would have been her 97th birthday.
