A vehicle caught fire on the M4 in South Wales on Wednesday morning, causing lane closures and severe delays for commuters.
The incident took place shortly before 7am near Newport between J25 Caerleon and J24 Coldra heading eastbound.
All main lanes were closed, with traffic instead using the hard shoulder while the fire service put out the flames and made the area safe.
No one was injured in the incident.
Traffic Wales reported “heavy congestion” between J24 and J28 Tredegar Park.

The vehicle was recovered and the road fully reopened by 9am.
Traffic Wales thanked maintenance workers and the emergency services for their response.
