A baby donkey has been stolen from a farm in Hampshire.
The two-month-old, called Moon, was taken from a field at Miller’s Ark Animals in Hook.
The owner posted on social media on Monday and said staff at the site were “devastated”.
In a Facebook post, the farm said: “Sadly this afternoon at Miller’s Ark little Moon has been stolen from the field.
“We are completely devastated and incredibly concerned, she was only born at the beginning of March and needs to be with her Mum.
“This little donkey will be braying loudly tonight because she will be missing her mum badly.
“This is our chance to find her.
“If you or anyone you know took her, please return her to the farm tonight, so she can go back with her mother who is very distressed.”
The farm has asked anyone with information to contact police.
The Hampshire force said: “Officers are investigating after a baby donkey was stolen from a farm in Hook. The incident happened at some time between before 5pm on Monday 15 May at Millers Ark Animals, Blackstock Lane.
“Were you in the area…? Did you see any suspicious vehicles or witness any unusual activity? Anyone with information should call police.”
‘This is such an awful thing to happen’
The farm’s Facebook post has now been shared by thousands of users across the platform, with many sharing their support and sending best wishes to the owner.
One user said: “Thinking of you all at this sad time. Hard to believe anyone could take a little foal away from its mother… they would have been grazing together.”
Another wrote: “This is such an awful thing to happen, poor Moon and her Mum (and all of the team looking after them). Why would anyone do something so horrendous?”
