A 34-year-old man has been charged with the murder of two people found dead at a house in Huddersfield on Monday, West Yorkshire Police have said.
Marcus Osbourne has been charged with the murders of mum-of-four Katie Higton, 27, and 25-year-old Steven Harnett.
Police were called to an address in Harpe Inge, Dalton at around 9.50am on Monday after paramedics found two people with multiple injuries.
They were confirmed to have died at the scene.
West Yorkshire Police said its investigation was continuing and added that Osbourne was also charged with assaulting and detaining a second woman against her will in the property on the night Mr Harnett and Ms Higton died.
Osbourne will appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court later.
On Tuesday, relatives of Ms Higton visited the scene and called her “the best mum” and said the family was “absolutely devastated”, as they placed flowers on behalf of her two eldest children.
