A man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder after a stabbing incident at a London hospital.
Matteo Bottarelli, 43, is also charged with two counts of threatening violence with a bladed article in a public place, the Metropolitan Police said.
Armed officers were called to Central Middlesex Hospital on Wednesday afternoon to reports that two people had been stabbed.
Officers found two men – both believed to be aged in their 40s – with stab injuries. Both are thought to have been attacked with a mattock.
Both men are being treated in hospital, with one victim having suffered life-changing injuries, police said.
Following the suspect’s arrest, police further arrested on him suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, affray and a third count of attempted murder.
This victim in this count did not suffer any injuries, police said.
