Police have launched an investigation after a car was firebombed outside a prison in Scotland.
Emergency crews were alerted to the blaze at HMP Perth during the early hours of Thursday morning.
The vehicle is understood to belong to a prison employee.
The Scottish Prison Service confirmed the fire took place and said “all incidents involving alleged criminality” are reported to police.
Police Scotland said it is treating the fire as wilful.

A force spokesperson said: “Police received a report of car on fire in the car park at HMP Perth around 12.45am on Thursday 6 July 2023.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and no one was injured.
“The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.”
