Greta Thunberg has arrived at court after being charged with disobeying police at a protest in southern Sweden.
The 20-year-old environmental campaigner and other activists were detained after stopping traffic in the oil terminal of the port of Malmo on 19 June, local newspaper Sydsvenskan reported.
Ms Thunberg was charged after refusing to comply with police orders to leave the scene during the protest, the Swedish Prosecution Authority and prosecutors said.
Prosecutor Charlotte Ottosen told the newspaper the crime of disobedience is typically punishable with fines.
But there is a chance the activist could face up to six months in prison.

Ms Thunberg posted on Instagram during the protest saying: “The climate crisis is already a matter of life and death for countless people.
“We choose to not be bystanders, and instead physically stop the fossil fuel infrastructure. We are reclaiming the future.”

Ms Thunberg inspired a global youth movement demanding stronger action against climate change after staging weekly protests outside the Swedish parliament in 2018.
