Former WWE star Hulk Hogan has lost 18kg, revealing that giving up alcohol eight months ago “changed everything”.
Hogan, 70, said he last drank alcohol on New Year’s Eve and had intended to take a small break from the booze, but has not had a sip since.
He told TMZ: “I wasn’t eating late at night – I wasn’t eating junk food anymore. I dropped like 40 pounds right away.”
Hogan, one of the most recognisable wrestlers of all time, said his regular drinking of alcohol began during his pro-career.
“We’d have beers before the matches. Beers after the matches. And we’d go to the hotel and all meet down at the bar. It was kinda like part of the whole wrestling genre,” he told the US outlet.

However, despite the alcohol-free eight months, Hogan did say he was not quitting booze for good and vowed to take it easier than when was younger if he did start drinking again.
“I would never drink daily, you know, like I did when I was wrestling,” he told TMZ.

Hogan previously drew controversy and was fired from the WWE Hall of Fame after tapes recorded in 2007 revealed him making racist statements about his daughter Brooke’s ex-boyfriend.
He was later admitted back into the Hall of Fame after a three-year suspension.
