The 52-seater coach involved in a fatal crash with a car in Pembrokeshire on Tuesday was carrying holidaymakers from the Cumbria area.
A major incident was declared after the crash, which prompted a large emergency service response.
Dyfed-Powys Police have since confirmed that the person who died in the crash on the A477 near Cleddau Bridge, Pembroke Dock, was the male driver of the car.
The motorist’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the coach was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.
A total of 24 bus passengers were taken to hospital but they have all since been discharged.
Officers said the collision took place at about 2.15pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Five fire crews from the surrounding area were in attendance.
Crews from Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven, Haverfordwest, Tenby and Narberth helped at the scene and freed a severely trapped driver who was airlifted to hospital.
Hywel Dda Health Board, which covers West Wales, had issued an appeal on Wednesday evening for people not to visit Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest unless they were seriously injured or had a life-threatening illness.

The road was closed while investigations were carried out, and reopened at about 4.30am on Wednesday morning.
Police have thanked road users for their patience while emergency services responded.
