A 72-year-old man has died after an assault at a pub, police say.
Gavin Weekes, from Pencoed, Bridgend, was taken to hospital following the incident in the town on 29 August.
His family said they were “devastated” after his death.
“We would like to thank family and friends for all their support and kind messages at this time,” they said in a statement.
Mr Weekes’ family are being supported by specialist officers.
South Wales Police are continuing to investigate what happened in the Chatterton Arms at around 8.30pm.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Matt Davies, from the force’s major crime investigations team, sympathised with Mr Weekes’ family at a “very sad time for them”.
The force is asking any witnesses or anyone with information which might help with the investigation to get in touch.
