A man in his 50s has died after being hit by a tourist land train in at a seaside resort in Devon.
Police arrested a 61-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following the crash in Ilfracombe on Friday.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called to reports that a “purple land train” – a road-based vehicle that looks like a train – had hit a pedestrian at around 5.15pm.
A spokesperson said the victim became trapped under the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.

The force added: “The collision occurred outside the vehicle’s storage facility. It was not in operation on its route at the time.”

The suspect has been released on bail pending further inquiries and officers have appealed for witnesses.
