Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has threatened to take his own club to court over a video on TikTok appearing to mock him for missing a penalty.
Osimhen – who helped the Italian club secure its first league title in 30 years last season – is reserving “the right to take legal action” over the social media post.
The video showed Osmihen missing a penalty against rivals Bologna on Saturday, with a sped-up voice dubbed over the top.
Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda said the post was “not acceptable”.
“A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted,” he said in a statement.
“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.”
Mr Calenda added: “We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”
The clip comes as tension surfaced between Osimhen and Napoli boss Rudi Garcia during the match.
Osmihen appeared to be unhappy with his manager after he was subbed off with four minutes to go in the goalless draw.
