CCTV footage that shows the tussle between Tom Daley’s husband Dustin Lance Black and a BBC presenter has been released by the Crown Prosecution Service.
The assault case against the Oscar-winning screenwriter was dismissed this week at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, citing inconsistencies in Teddy Edwardes’ evidence.
Mr Black, who married the Olympic diving champion in 2017, was alleged to have twisted Ms Edwardes’ wrist “very hard” at a nightclub in central London’s Soho area on 18 August 2022.
The Crown Prosecution Service released the footage today which shows Daley trying to speak to his husband during the altercation that caused a drink to spill.
Mr Black, who won an Oscar in 2008 for best original screenplay for Milk, described the judge’s dismissal as a “moment of exoneration”.
Daley and Black welcomed their first child Robert Ray in 2018 via surrogate, and their second son Phoenix Rose in April this year.
