It’s only 13 games into the 2023-24 Premier League campaign but has Alejandro Garnacho already wrapped up the goal of the season accolade?
The Manchester United winger’s acrobatic strike against Everton is even being talked about as the “best overhead kick” ever.
The 19-year-old scored in the third minute to help fire United to a 3-0 victory at Goodison Park – with his goal drawing comparisons with Old Trafford legend Wayne Rooney.
“The season, still many games to play, but probably already the goal of the season,” United manager Eric Ten Hag said after the game.
“It was incredible.”
“I can’t believe it,” former United captain Gary Neville said on Sky Sports.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been in a stadium where I’ve seen an overhead kick as good as that – and I was there on the day that Rooney scored his in the Manchester derby.
