Two teenagers have died and three others have been seriously injured in a three-car crash in Northumberland.
Northumbria police said Connor Lapworth, 18, died at the scene and 15-year-old Corey Mavin, suffered head injuries but died in hospital.
The collision involved a Suzuki Vitara, a Range Rover Evoque, and a Ford Focus – and took place on the A192 Hartford Bank, in Cramlington on Friday.
The teenagers who died, and two of those who suffered serious injuries – both men aged 41 and 17 – were in the Suzuki.
A 36-year-old woman in the Range Rover was also seriously injured. The 52-year-old female driver of the Ford Focus was uninjured.
Northumbria Police said: “Our thoughts are firmly with the families of the two young people who have lost their lives.
“We will offer them all of the support they need and ask that their privacy is respected at this time.”
The force appealed to anyone who witnessed the crash, including those with dashcam footage, to come forward with information.
