A Scottish chocolate maker is “over the moon” after being chosen to make sweet treats for Hollywood’s A-list stars at this year’s Oscars.
Fiona McArthur, who runs Fetcha Chocolates, said it was a dream come true to be selected for the star-studded awards ceremony, where her handmade vegan creations are set to be included in this year’s Oscars gift bags.
She told Sky News: “I’m totally over the moon, I can’t believe it.
“When I originally designed the packaging for the boxes, I sort of designed it with the Oscars bags in mind.
“I thought ‘I really want them to look nice if I ever got into these gift bags’ – but not for a second thinking it would actually happen.
“So, I’m telling everyone this has made me believe in manifesting because I feel like I wanted it to happen and then it just happened.”
Ms McArthur launched Fetcha Chocolates, based in Campbeltown in Argyll and Bute, in 2019.
The 37-year-old was commissioned to add to the famous Oscars goodie bags after being contacted “out of the blue” over LinkedIn and will curate boxes for those who win Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel will also go home with a box.
Ms McArthur said the boxes of 24 chocolates will feature six different flavours inspired by six movies that have been nominated – Barbie, Oppenheimer, Killers Of The Flower Moon, Poor Things, The Holdovers and Maestro.
The Barbie chocolate is flavoured strawberry and rose and will be shaped into a pink heart.

Ms McArthur, who plans to host a movie night for the Oscars, has a soft spot for Lily Gladstone, who is up for Best Actress for Killers Of The Flower Moon.

Ms McArthur said: “I’m really happy that Lily Gladstone got nominated because I actually spent two years in Montana living fairly close to where she grew up.
“So, I feel like I have a weird kind of connection with her – probably going to the same places quite often.”
