A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a woman in her sixties in Essex.
Police were called to reports of a suspicious male on Dorset Avenue, Great Baddow, near Chelmsford, at around 2.30pm on Friday.
After speaking to the man, officers went to an address in Readers Court, where they found a seriously injured woman.
Despite efforts from paramedics, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Essex Police has said.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.

Officers will remain at the scene as they carry out enquiries, Detective Chief Superintendent Rob Kirby said.
Anyone who has footage that could be relevant to the investigation is being asked to contact Essex Police.
