Two men have been arrested after a car carrying a three-year-old child was involved in an “extremely dangerous” 150mph chase.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said the pursuit of the Audi A3 began in Heywood shortly before 7pm on Tuesday.
In a 13-minute-long chase, the vehicle reached speeds of up to 150mph as it travelled through Rochdale towards Whitworth and then back to Rochdale, GMP said.
The dramatic pursuit ended when the car crashed into a lamppost on Bentley Street.
The driver and an adult male passenger were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and possession with intent to supply class B drugs.
Officers found a three-year-old child was sat on the passenger’s knee throughout the chase. A dog and cannabis were also found inside the vehicle.

Inspector Richard Shelton said: “This is extremely dangerous levels of offending and I’m thankful to report that no one was hurt during this pursuit.
“The reckless actions of these offenders have put a three-year-old child at risk, as well as members of the public going about their daily business.
“The speeds reached are beyond unacceptable and I am pleased that our officers acted swiftly to secure these arrests, bring the child into police protection and seize the vehicle.”
