An award-winning Swedish rapper has been shot dead aged just 26.
C.Gambino, whose real name is Karar Ramadan, was parked in Gothenburg, Sweden, last night when he was attacked and killed.
Local police confirmed to Swedish media that he was shot twice after being attacked by “several men”.
The rapper, not to be confused with American artist Childish Gambino, has over one million monthly listeners on Spotify and had won a Grammi – his country’s equivalent of a Grammy – just last month.
Thomas Fuxborg, a spokesperson for police in the region, said that authorities were made aware of the attack in a parking lot at 22.42pm.
He said that when they arrived, Mr Ramadan had been shot and was rushed to hospital but died shortly after midnight.
Police launched a murder investigation and have been trying to map out his movements leading up to the attack.
Mr Fuxborg said that their working hypothesis was that “several men had been waiting for him in the garage when he came to park his car” and was on his way out.

Police have since brought in several people for questioning but have no suspects and made no arrests.
The police also described C.Gambino as a “former criminal” but stressed the motive for the attack wasn’t known yet.
Despite this, they said that the investigation “looks good” and they were specifically interested in a silver Volvo V70 that had been seen in the garage during the shooting.
