One person has been taken to hospital and several others have also been injured after a fairground ride “failed and crashed” in Birmingham.
West Midlands Fire Service said the ride “dropped to ground level whilst in operation”.
The incident happened in the city centre around 7.30pm on Thursday.
The fire service said: “We assisted ambulance colleagues with treatment of a number of casualties, whose injuries are not life-threatening.
“One casualty has been conveyed to hospital, with several others discharged on scene.
“We are not working on the rescue of any further casualties.”
Local police said they had responded to reports of an issue with a ride.

They added that a “small number” of people were being treated by paramedics but “no serious injuries have been reported”.
