There are reports of serious injuries after what is believed to have been a gas explosion at a service station in Ireland.
The explosion happened just after 3pm at the Applegreen service station on the outskirts of Creeslough, Co Donegal.
Ambulance crews, a Coast Guard helicopter and Coast Guard team were among those sent to the scene.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said it is assisting fire crews from Donegal Fire Service at a “declared major incident”.
Photos showed a number of cars damaged by debris, with what appears to be an apartment block behind the forecourt having been largely destroyed.
Councillor John O’Donnell told Sky News: “I know there have been serious injuries, and it’s just a very sad incident.”
Mr O’Donnell said an air ambulance had picked up “a number of parties”, adding: “This is very, very hard here in a small rural village.

“Everybody’s completely numb here – we’re just all in shock.”
A spokesperson for Letterkenny University Hospital said it was “dealing with a serious incident, with multiple injured people requiring immediate attention”.
“The hospital has moved to Major Emergency Standby as it deals with this incident.
“We are appealing to the public not to come to the Emergency Department unless it is an emergency.”
Forecourt retailer Applegreen confirmed there was a “serious incident” at one of its dealer-operated locations.
Thomas Pringle, independent TD for Donegal, wrote on Twitter: “I’m deeply saddened hearing the tragic news coming from Creeslough this evening.
“My thoughts are with those affected.
“With sincere appreciation for those who have respond(ed) so quickly.”
Residents have been asked to stay away from the area.
