A dog owner has been charged after a doberman mauled a three-year-old girl, leaving her with life-changing injuries.
The toddler was bitten during an attack in Botley Drive, Havant, in Hampshire, around 6.35pm on Monday, 8 August, police said.
The girl, who has not been identified, was rushed to Queen Alexandra hospital for treatment.
She was later discharged to recover at home.
The doberman was destroyed following the incident, Hampshire Constabulary said.
Owner Lisa Marie Garner, of Botley Drive, has now been charged with being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog, the force announced on Thursday.
Garner, 45, has been bailed to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on 10 November.
