A 30-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man have been charged with the murder of a missing 63-year-old whose body has never been found.
Surie Suksiri and Juned Sheikh are due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday over the killing of Frank McKeever, who disappeared from Islington, London, last summer, the Metropolitan Police said.
Mr McKeever was last seen walking along Highbury Park, close to the junction of Highbury Grange, on 28 August 2021.
After an extensive investigation failed to find any trace of him, officers concluded that he had most likely come to serious harm.
Canals, lakes, open spaces, and various premises have been searched in a bid to find him, and the Met offered a £20,000 reward for anyone with information of his whereabouts.
To mark the one-year anniversary of Mr McKeever’s disappearance earlier this year, his family issued a statement pleading for the public to help find their “cheerful and gentle” brother.
“Our family had lost touch with him for some years, but we were so happy to reconnect with him last summer and were looking forward to being with him again to rebuild family ties,” they said.
