An award-winning executive producer on the hit sitcom Schitt’s Creek has died aged 47, according to US media reports.
Ben Feigin’s death was confirmed by United Talent Agency, NBC said, citing Variety magazine.
He had been suffering with pancreatic cancer and passed away on Monday.
The American picked up a number of awards for his work on the comedy – but was also a pioneer behind live streaming.
He helped make history through a partnership with AOL with an event featuring comedians and musicians showing how live content could be enjoyed on new platforms.
But it was with Schitt’s Creek that he had such renowned success, helping to secure financing for the show.
He also played a key part in selling the series to other licencees, including Netflix.
Schitt’s Creek came to an end after six seasons in 2020.
Mr Feigin’s awards included a 2020 Emmy and a Golden Globe and Producers Guild Award in 2021.
His work also saw him reunite comedy duo Cheech & Chong, who were successful in the 1970s and 80s with their stand-up routines.

Mr Feigin’s career started at Warner Brothers before he later helped to found the comedy and enterprise divisions at Anonymous Content.
He was married to talent agent, Heidi Feigin, and he is also survived by their 11-year-old daughter.
