Kim Kardashian has been granted a restraining order against a man who claimed he had been communicating with her telepathically, according to US media reports.
Court documents reported by NBC’s Today state the man has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from Kardashian, 42, and has been banned from contacting her directly or indirectly.
The reality TV star and businesswoman said she was worried the man might “escalate to physical violence”. He claimed to own a gun, according to the documents.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Adrian Gidaya Roxas granted a five-year restraining order, NBC reports.
In the order filed by Kardashian’s legal team, she said the man has persistently attempted to contact her multiple times and believes “that I am communicating with him in some way”.
“[The man] claimed that I had been communicating with him telepathically,” Kardashian said, according to the court documents. She added that the man “has also expressed increasing frustration that I have not responded to him”.
She said that while she has not met or spoken to the man, he “attempted to access my residence on three separate occasions” in August 2022.
During a recent trip to New York, he also attempted to access her hotel, she said.
It comes after details of Kardashian’s divorce settlement with ex-husband Kanye West, who has legally changed his name to Ye, emerged towards the end of November.
