Elliot Page has shared a topless selfie and described the “joy” he feels in his body after getting gender affirming care.
The 36-year-old actor revealed he had had top surgery in 2021 after coming out as transgender the year before.
In a recent Instagram post captioned “#transjoy”, he opened up about his past experience of gender dysphoria.
“Dysphoria used to be especially rife in the summer. No layers, just a T-shirt – or layers and oh so sweaty – constantly looking down, readjusting my oversized T.
“It feels so f’ing good soaking in the sun now, I never thought I could experience this, the joy I feel in my body.”
He described how top surgery had changed his life.
“I am so grateful for what gender affirming care has allowed me,” he wrote.
