Quick Take
Recent data analysis performed by Mononaut, a key player at BitfeedLive and mempool specializing in Bitcoin, reveals that Ocean, a decentralized mining pool, successfully mined their third block, identified as block number 823,129.
This notable achievement took place approximately at 07:58 am GMT. The mining pool was rewarded with a subsidy and fees totaling 7.412, inclusive of 1.162 Bitcoin accrued in fees, according to Mempool.Space.
Interestingly, Mononaut highlighted that the block contained just one inscription, adhering to their filtered template.
The block was constructed using their standard “filtered” template, only containing 1 inscription and 54 op_returns (mostly Runes). The filtering cost them ~0.144 BTC in fees, which is an 11.03% reduction in fees or about a 2% reduction in total block reward.
At present, Ocean’s hash rate stands at 525 ph/s, demonstrating its proficient mining capabilities only starting last month.
