Supermarket shelves in Ukraine have been stripped bare, as the country enters the seventh day of fighting with Russia.
Images shared on Snapchat on Tuesday showed a supermarket with almost entirely empty shelves in Lviv, in western Ukraine.
According to reports, people are receiving “no news” of when additional supplies will arrive.
In Kyiv, people reported having no access to fruit, vegetables, bread and other “basic supplies”.
It is understood pet shops are also running out of food.

According to Al Jazeera, Spanish hams, French cheese, Swiss chocolate and mangoes, which were imported from Thailand just before the war, are left on shelves in Silpo, a supermarket chain in the Pecherskyi district in Kyiv, which has a population of almost three million people.

All staple foods have sold out, with no bread, vegetables, oils and meat or sausages.
“We’re expecting a delivery tomorrow, it’s not that easy logistically,” Konstantin, a cashier in a face mask adorned with a tiny Ukrainian coat of arms, told Al Jazeera.
Russian forces close in on major cities
Russian troops closed in on Kyiv after paratroopers stormed a military hospital in Kharkiv overnight and troops surround other cities in Kherson and Mariupol.

Kyiv’s mayor said Russia is gathering forces “closer and closer” to the Ukrainian capital after a long convoy of Vladimir Putin’s military vehicles stalled around 20 miles (32.2km) northwest of the city in the early hours of Wednesday.
Russia’s defence ministry said on Wednesday morning that its armed forces had captured the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, RIA news agency reported.
In Kharkiv, Russian paratroopers launched an airborne assault on a military hospital in the early hours of Wednesday and it is understood that fighting was still underway at 4am GMT.
