A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a man was fatally stabbed outside an Asda supermarket.
West Mercia Police said Ian Kirwan, 53, was attacked on Jinnah Road in Redditch, Worcestershire, around 7.20pm on Tuesday.
The boy charged with murder appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address during a short hearing.
He was not required to enter a plea.
Eleven youths have been arrested in connection with the attack.
Two remain in custody, alongside the boy charged with murder.
Police said one has been released on bail while the other seven have been released with no further action.

The supermarket has since reopened and officers are maintaining a high visibility presence in Redditch, the force added.
The charged youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been remanded into youth detention to appear at Worcester Crown Court on Monday.
