Manchester City have held off Liverpool to win the Premier League by a single point after beating Aston Villa 3-2 on an enthralling final day.
Pep Guardiola’s side found themselves 2-0 down as Villa – managed by former Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard – threatened to pull off an almighty shock at the Etihad Stadium.
But two goals from substitute Ilkay Gundogan helped City turn things around in a stunning five-minute spell deep into the second half.
It meant Liverpool’s 3-1 win at home to Wolves was in vain.
Leeds stayed up after winning 2-1 at Brentford, pipping Burnley who lost by the same score at Newcastle.
Tottenham secured the final Champions League place after thrashing Norwich 5-0, while Manchester United held on to the final Europa League spot.
